Meet Our Associates - the persons who come to your home and give care to your pets!
Barbara is a native Floridian, hailing from Miami. She attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City and performs regularly at local theatres. Recently, writers from both the TBTimes and Creative Loafing called Barbara "a phenomenal actor" and "uncommonly beautiful"; and we totally agree with the critics! Barbara calls herself a "stray cat magnet" and has given a home to many wandering kitties, having as many as six at one time! Right now she has two - Cassie, a Tuxedo kitten, and Kerry, a 10 year old ball of black fur who is diabetic. Barbara is one of our senior Associates, visiting clients throughout our service area, and covering management duties such as Initial Client Visits.
Natasha recently graduated from the University of Florida with her degree in Animal Sciences. Having lived in Tampa all her life, she truly enjoys working with animals any chance she can. Her beautiful smile and gentle spirit can win over any animal! She has ridden horses since age four and trained horses at UF, representing the UF Equestrian Team in competitions. She enjoys traveling internationally and works part time in the heathcare field. Natasha lives on Harbour Island with her three-year old Dutch-Dwarf Rabbit named Coco, and visits our clients on Harbour Island, Davis Island, Downtown, Channelside, Bayshore and South Tampa.
Melissa and Kyle are from Clarksville, Tennessee. After their 2009 graduations from a private christian university, they moved to Tampa. Together they are active in their church, and enjoy outdoor sports such as hiking, kayaking, and rollerblading. Teddy and Trixie would love to rollerblade with them, but unfortunately, no company makes skates small enough for their little paws, so they are happy to run alongside! Melissa is a twice-weekly Animal Care volunteer at the Lowry Park Zoo, where she feeds and cares for elephants, giraffes and zebras! Melissa and Kyle visit clients in the South Tampa area, including the Westshore Yacht Club and other properties south of Gandy.
Fran is one of the nicest ladies you will ever meet. She has a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh. Fran works full time in the Fraud Control Department of a local bank but her hours allow her to work early mornings and weekends with us. She loves dogs, and the bigger they are, the better! She really enjoys multi-dog households and has a talent for walking even the most exuberant doggie! Fran has two grown sons who also live in South Tampa, but she shares her 100+ year old self-renovated Bungalow home with Brutus, an energetic Red-Nosed Pitt Bull Terrier and a beautiful kitty named Carmen.
Tania is a kind and fun individual with a great sense of humor. She originates from
Maryland, but has spent most of her adult life in the Tampa Bay area. After watching ‘The Dog Whisperer”, Tania felt compelled to work with animals and went back to school to becomea certified Dog Trainer. After graduation, Tania joined the Secure Home Solutions team and finds spending time with all types of animals extremely rewarding. Tania has two Beagles – six year old Deago and three-year old Hunter. Besides enjoying time with animals, Tania is a champion Poker player, loves to go on cruises, and enjoys a good movie on the big screen. Tania lives with Nancy, her partner of 16 years, in the Town and Country area.
Regina
is originally from the U.K., and speaks with a lovely accent! She has lived in London, Paris, New York, Mexico City and San Luis Potosí, and moved to Florida in 2002. She speaks Spanish and French…some dog and cat, too (really!). She shares her home with Muffie, a beautiful stray Tiger feline she rescued and adopted five years ago. In the past she has owned a Golden Retriever, a Boxer, an Afghan Hound and a St. Bernard. She visits clients in Oldsmar - where she resides - as well as in Westchase, Palm Harbor, Safety Harbor and parts of Clearwater.
Lou is originally from Providence, Rhode Island but has resided in Tampa for so long that
she considers herself a Floridian. Her family has four generations of women living in Tampa! She is an environmental champion and an inspiration. As a longstanding member of the Sierra Club, she volunteers for the Inner City Outing Club, which provides outdoor experiences to inner-city youths who
may not otherwise have the chance to learn about the outdoors. Lou works for a nonprofit organization here in Tampa and is also a Notary Public. Lou was one of Cindy’s first friends in Tampa and officiated at Cindy and Anthony’s wedding. Lou enjoys being an SHS Associate and being “Auntie” to all her furred, feathered and finned nieces and nephews.
Kaia and Steven work as a team, visiting clients in South Tampa, Downtown, Channelside and Harbour Island. Both are versatile athletes and runners, regularly participating in short and long distance runs and marathons. Kaia is a graduate of Tampa University and also works part time as a Vet Tech. Steven is finishing up his degree in Architecture and works for SHS full time. They are both client favorites, especially for those with high-energy dogs who like to have a good run. Kaia and Steven live in South Tampa with their Retriever mix dog, Justin, and seven cats, two of whom are rescue/foster kittens.
Billie is the owner of You-Handsome-Dog All Breed Grooming. Billie worked for SHS as a
Pet Sitter when she was in grooming school and has continued her relationship with us as our on-staff groomer. Billie is a talented and meticulous groomer and just an all around great person! She has a great personality and a true love for dogs. She has fostered almost 100 dogs for Tampa rescue organizations over the past twenty years, and has seven of her own!
